When you entrust your furry friend to a professional groomer, you want to be sure that they are in good hands. Regular grooming is important to keeping your furry family members healthy and happy. Not only does it keep your pup looking and smelling their best, but it also helps to reduce shedding, prevent mats and tangles, and can even help you spot health issues early on. While you could opt to do all the grooming yourself at home, many pet parents choose to take their furry friend to a professional dog groomer for a full service grooming. A professional dog groomer understands how important your pet is to you. That’s why many dog groomers offer full service grooming for all of their clients, no matter what breed of dog they have. But what exactly is included in a full service grooming? Keep reading to find out.

Any reputable groomer knows that every dog deserves the royal treatment! A full service grooming typically includes everything that your dog needs to look and feel their best. This usually includes a bath with high-quality shampoo and conditioner, a blow dry, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and a brush out. Depending on the groomer and the type of coat your dog has, a full service grooming may also include a haircut. Many dog groomers will also include a scarf or bandana, and a spritz of doggy cologne or perfume to put the finishing touch on your pooch.

Pricing

The cost of a full service grooming will vary depending on the groomer, the size of your dog, the length and thickness of their coat, and whether or not your pup needs a haircut. That being said, most full service grooming cost between $50 and $150. However, prices may vary depending on the type and condition of your dog’s coat, as well as any additional services that you request. For example, if your dog has a particularly matted coat, you may be charged an additional fee for de-matting.

What to Expect

When you bring your dog in for a full service grooming appointment, the first thing your dog groomer will do is check in with you to get some basic information about your pet. They should ask about their name, age, breed, and any special instructions that you may have for your pup. Then, an experienced groomer will take your pup into the back to get started on their transformation!

The first thing the groomer will do is assess your pup’s coat. They will then discuss with you what type of cut or style you would like for your dog. Once that is decided, they will get started on the bathing process.

After the bath, your dog will be blown dry (this is important to avoid mats and tangles) and then brushed out. Next, the groomer will trim your pup’s nails and clean their ears. Finally, if you decide to have your dog’s hair cut, the groomer will do that last.

The entire process usually takes between 1-2 hours, depending on the size and breed of your dog. It can be tough to be away from your furry friend for that long, any quality dog groomer will take excellent care of them and return them to you happy and refreshed!
